According to Unity Marketing, a luxury consumer insights firm, 66% of those surveyed ($199.2K; age 45.6 yrs; 61% female and 39% male) said they are likely to keep their level of charitable contributions the same in 2009 as in 2008. That is quite encouraging considering all the news and stories about charities not able to keep up with previous years contributions.
As for the other 44%, there are several ways they can still contribute without opening a checkbook, including:
- Giving time
- Giving energy (use your strengths to help the charity to not only survive but thrive in this environment)
- Attend and encourage others to attend fund raising events
- Give other resources (time at your vacation home, on your boat, tickets to sporting events, etc)
