Hats off to the organizers of the Tony Hawk Stand Up for Skate annual event.  By no means am I a fund raising guru but I have been to my fair share of events and this one was spectacular.  For one, they had their benefactors at the event.  There must have been 200 kids running around in their Vans.  It was excellent.  Combine the kids with the athletes and it was a perfect mix.  Of course, I am not an avid skater, in fact I’ve only owned one deck my entire life and that was in 6th grade and it had a purple snake on it.  To say the least it wasn’t the most popular board in school.  Combine that with my lack of skating talent and it led to a short lived fad for me. Well, that’s not the case with so many kids (and adults) these days.  Skating is a passion and it changes lives which is why so many turn out to this fund raising event.

I’ve attached a few pictures (picasa slide show) I took at the event.  I think you’ll enjoy.

I’d also like to extend a big thank you to Nick Pullen and his team at the Pullen Realty Group as well as Chase Internationl.  They donated a 5 night stay at one of the most spectacular homes in all of Tahoe.  Check out these pictures and I think you’ll agree.
