PHILADELPHIA, PA. (October 13, 2008) – The Society of Leisure Enthusiasts (www.thesociety.com) is a tech savvy, international portfolio of more than 5,000 luxury vacation rentals for discriminating travelers who wish to experience the benefits of a destination club without the membership fees. VacationHomesForCharity.org is a blog designed and operated by The Society, introduced at the Luxury Real Estate Annual Conference at the Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia, PA.

Co-Founder, Michael McFadden, states, “The Society is a leading luxury vacation rental marketplace and we are utilizing our platform to bring ease and efficiency in sourcing luxury homes for fundraising events. This CSR initiative is offered by The Society’s Luxe Alliance partners who wish to “give back” to the community.” McFadden continues, “We are using our technology platform to assist non-profits and charitable organizations to source quality vacation homes for their auctions and other fund raising events. We created www.VacationHomesForCharity.org to highlight charities, homes and news regarding this new offering.”

This week The Society and their Luxe Alliance partner, Peak Properties (www.peakpropertiesvail.com), are donating a 5-night stay at a phenomenal mountain home in Vail, CO at the Windflower Ball in New York City. The donation is to benefit First Candle (www.FirstCandle.org), a national health organization uniting parents, caregivers and researchers nationwide with government, business and community service groups to advance infant health and survival. Later this fall The Society will be donating a home for the Tony Hawk Foundation in Beverly Hills.

“The Society’s goal is to make the process of donating time at a vacation home to a charity easy and efficient for all parties. Honestly, this was something we had to do. There are so many vacation homes that sit vacant for most of the year so deciding to make this a priority was an easy decision,” McFadden explained.
