We are looking forward to our Annual Spring Dinner Dance and Auction, Reach for the Stars, on March 20, 2010 in the beautiful Julia Morgan City Club in Berkeley, www.berkeleycityclub.com. This is our biggest community event of the year to celebrate our school and to raise funds for such things as technology, teacher professional training, scholarships, and more. It will be the best, and most fun, opportunity we will have to gather with other parents, as well as the teachers, administrators and board members of Bayhill High School.
The single most important thing you can do is attend the party, and bring someone interested in your child’s education, or education in general, with you. The more people who attend, the more effective the event will be as a fundraiser. In addition, the opportunity to meet the other members of our community in a social setting is not only personally rewarding, but it will add to your understanding of what our school is all about. The ticket price of $35.00, which includes dinner, is set low to encourage a large attendance. And to honor the service of our teachers and staff, they are admitted free.
The event includes a buffet dinner, music and dancing. There will be a no host bar. While this is going on, we will be conducting a silent auction, and a number of other activities, such as a “wine toss” to win bottles of wine and other prizes. The evening will begin with an auction preview hour at 7:00 p.m. followed by dinner at 8:00 p.m. and music and dancing at 9:00 p.m.
We already have many fabulous items to bid on, including a vacation home in Big Sur, Giants tickets in the Club Mezzanine, a Mad Men cocktail party (sorry, Don Draper is not available), a two hour kitchen design consultation by one of our very own Bayhill parents, certificates from local restaurants and other businesses, as well as theme baskets from each of our classes. But we are not yet done soliciting auction items. To add to the fun, and increase the amount this event can raise for the school, we are still very interested in receiving your donations of quality goods and services for auction.
