The Boys and Girls Club of Northern Arizona presents…their 14th Annual event:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Arizona have since 1995 been an important source
of support for the young people of the Verde Valley. They’re a second home to hundreds
of kids each year. Without the Clubs, many young people would lack a safe, positive place
to go after school and in the summer. And studies show that kids who are left alone
in the afternoons and evenings are three times higher than average to engage in such
delinquent activities as experimentation with drugs, alcohol, tobacco and premature sex.
If a young person turns to a life of crime, it costs Verde Valley taxpayers over $40,000
per year to incarcerate that one offender. For the same amount, 26 kids could attend our
Clubs for a year, including summer camp. At the Clubs, kids learn invaluable skills that help
them how to give back to the community and succeed at life.
We are a youth development organization whose mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those
who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring responsible citizens. The Clubs fulfill this mission by involving parents, volunteers, educators and community partners in offering proven youth development programs in five core areas:
- Character & Leadership Development
- Health & Life Skills; Education & Career Development
- Sports
- Fitness & Recreation
- and The Arts.
